The SANY SY215C belongs to the widely used 20-ton excavator class. For overseas buyers, the most important question is not whether a machine looks clean in photographs, but whether its identity, working condition and export plan can be verified before payment.
Define the Required Work
Before comparing machines, confirm the expected material, digging depth, lift requirements, working space, transport limits and preferred attachments. This prevents a buyer from choosing a machine by model name alone. The correct excavator must fit both the job and the destination logistics.
Confirm Model and Machine Identity
Request clear photographs of the model plate and serial number and compare them with the quotation. Reconfirm the exact configuration, displayed hours and current availability. A listing is a starting point; the final sales documents should describe the specific machine being purchased.
Inspect Boom, Arm and Bucket Linkage
Check the boom foot, boom-to-arm connection, bucket linkage, cylinder mounts and surrounding plates. Look for cracks, bent components, non-standard welds and excessive pin movement. A repaired area is not automatically unacceptable, but it should be disclosed and supported by close photographs and an operating test.
Check the Hydraulic System Warm
Ask for a continuous test after the machine reaches normal operating temperature. Operate boom, arm, bucket, swing and travel functions repeatedly and use combined movements. Watch for slow response, cylinder drift, oil around rod seals, damaged hoses, unusual pump noise and warning messages. A short idle video cannot confirm hydraulic performance.
Inspect Both Sides of the Undercarriage
Request full photographs of both track frames on level ground. Add close-ups of track shoes, chains, carrier rollers, bottom rollers, front idlers, tension and sprockets. Compare the left and right sides for uneven wear, leakage, cracks and loose bolts. If a wear percentage is quoted, ask how it was measured.
Travel, Turn and Swing Test
The machine should travel forward and reverse, track straight, turn in both directions, counter-rotate and complete a full swing and braking test. Pulling to one side, hesitation, grinding or impact noise may require further inspection of the undercarriage, final drives, travel motors or hydraulic circuit.
Cab and Control Check
Check the monitor at start-up and during operation. Review warning lights, gauges, control response, travel pedals, seat condition, glass and safety controls. Do not treat a displayed hour reading as the only measure of condition; compare it with component wear and maintenance evidence.
Export and Loading Planning
Confirm the machine dimensions, loading method, cleaning, dismantling requirements, included attachments and destination documents before finalizing the quotation. Record the agreed machine condition and any promised repairs in writing. Buyers should also plan port handling and inland transport after arrival.
