Used Komatsu PC240, PC270 and PC300 Excavator for Sale: China Export Guide

Release time: 2026-11-05

Between the popular PC200/PC210 and the large PC350/PC400 class sits a busy Komatsu mid-heavy band: PC240, PC270 and PC300. These 24–32 ton machines suit quarry loading, highway cuts and heavy civil work across Africa and Latin America. Shanghai yards stock Japan-origin PC240-8, PC270-7 and PC300-7/8 units with clear hour meters. This guide compares the three sizes, lists what to check on a live video, and explains how to buy a used Komatsu PC240, PC270 or PC300 excavator from China.

PC240 vs PC270 vs PC300: which size fits?

Prefer a lighter Komatsu first? See our PC200-8 Africa export tips. Need a larger class? See the PC350 export guide. All current units are listed under used Komatsu excavators.

What to check on a live video

  1. Serial plate, hour meter and monitor in one uncut clip, including any fault codes.
  2. Cold start and smoke colour, then blow-by at the oil filler once warm.
  3. Combined movements: boom up, stick in and swing together at full throttle with no hesitation.
  4. Boom drift: hold a loaded bucket in the air for one minute and watch for creeping.
  5. Pins, bushings and swing bearing play at the bucket, stick and upper structure.
  6. Undercarriage: sprockets, rollers, idlers and shoe height — critical on 24–32 ton machines.
  7. Hammer piping and stick nose wear if you plan breaker work.

Shipping from Shanghai

A PC240 usually ships on a flat rack or by RoRo; PC270 and PC300 almost always need a flat rack, often with the counterweight or bucket removed. Ask for FOB Shanghai and CIF to ports such as Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Lagos, Callao or Santos, and confirm age and inspection rules with your broker. Our Kenya, Ghana and South Africa import guide and Latin America guide cover the paperwork.
